WAR zone

Yesterday, i spent the entire day at The New Esplanade Hotel, attending a Women @ the River (WAR) conference. It was the first WAR conference i've been to and it was pretty full-on. I mean just being in the presence of so many women! I felt a heavy oppression when i walked in late. It was like there was this tension about the place, however, by the end of the session, after our amazing worship times, the thick tension in the air had gone and there was this deep peace - a holy presence.

It was funny that the people who invited me ended up attending a prayer conference elsewhere, so i went on my own. I could have gone down south with them, but i felt like God wanted me to go to the women's event instead and i am so grateful i went. It was awesome.

We started with some worship. Then numerous women got up and gave prophetic messages to the audience, including visions and scriptures and words of knowledge. It was really encouraging. I sat next to a beautiful lady called May Kew, who told me she was a grandmother with kids between 27 and 34. We prayed together a few times and when she prayed for me, the Lord gave her a vision, which really encouraged me.

She said she could see a young deer that was gracefully moving around in a winter scene. The atmosphere was cold and dark, yet the deer was bringing tremendous joy to people all around it. She said it had white spots to identify with the cold, but it was radiant and full of warmth. Then she said she could see lots of parcels and presents. The deer was bringing them to people who had experienced a lot of pain and suffering and who had cold and darkness in their lives. When she had finished saying that, i looked up at her and she had tears in her eyes. She said the vision touched her heart and it was for me. She said that usually when she prays for people, she sees pictures for them. Sweet.

I also met a few other people over lunch, but i wasn't really feeling very sociable, so i didn't really make much effort to get to know many people. I just talked to whoever came and sat with me. It was a very nice venue overlooking the Swan River. I was watching people jogging, rowing, cycling and having fun outside in the sun. What a blessed and beautiful city we live in.

At the end of the session, some older ladies prayed for every one who wanted to be prayed for and they annointed our hands with shimmering oil, to empower us to go out into our communities and workplaces and shine the love of God on other peoples' lives.
